Entry types
There are four types of entries in Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum Online
- new inscription. Entries of this type give the text of a previously unknown inscription
- new reading. Entries of this type give a new interpretation of known (i.e. previously published) inscription
- thematic. Entries of this type discuss scholarship (i.e. scholarly publications) based on epigraphical sources
- parent. Entries of this type consist of several subentries. Often, these subentries present inscriptions that are closely related, e.g. spatially. The "parent" provides a common context. For example, 63-614-615 presents two fragments of lead tablets. The "parent" summarized the interpretation of the editio princeps and the "children" 614 and 615 each give the text of a fragment. In Supplementum Epigraphicum Graecum Online, 614 and 615 can also be found as independent entries and, like all such entries, have a hyperlink to the parent.
Entries can be filtered on type in the Faceted search.
